I suck so much, you should stop reading right now. I haven’t written for a while, sorry for that, but an incident happened to me yesterday that deserves to be told. I am proud to say that I am a Dominican (from Dominican Republic, not Dominica), but my spanish is broken and I was, unfortunately, told that yesterday.
As you know, in south Florida most people are spanish, so most Walmarts have spanish only employees. I was shopping for my sister’s birthday present and decided to play a prank on her by buying the worst two gifts imaginable. The ones that will make her laugh then go mad. Yes, you got it a Snuggie (blankets with sleeves) and a HUGE Hannah Montana card that sings when you open it!
I asked every employee that was working that day if they knew where the Snuggies were stored because online, they do have them, it said they were in stock. The first person I asked looked flabbergasted and asked me how old I am. She took her price scanner and left very abruptly.
To this day I still don’t know what I said wrong. Is there a spanish word similar to ‘Snuggie’ that means something disrespectful, or is just really perverted, I just don’t know. It happened to me again, and again, and again. What did I say wrong? In the end I quit and just got my sister a Taylor Lautner poster. I actually already showed it to her today, even though her birthday is next week.
Yeah, I can’t keep secrets. Isn’t that what a blog is for?
